Sharon Bubenhofer

Sharon is a native of the DC Metro Area growing up in Kensington, Maryland. Her passion for design began as a child endlessly sketching pictures of fanciful houses.  She went on to study Interior Design at East Carolina University, which inspired her to launch her own design studio thus sparking a 30-year career as a professional designer.  Her favorite project involved removing a bad 1970’s update to a 1770’s town house in Old Town Alexandria. It was a fun challenge to preserve and restore the charm of the time worn original features, while removing all traces of harvest gold appliance.  The result was a respectful design that met the needs of a modern family in a very narrow space!

The thought-line in her career is the mission to help her customers articulate their needs and preferences. Sharon thrives on listening for her client’s “design language”. She finds joy in sharing her diverse design knowledge with her clients to help them create a solution unique to them.   She adores the moment when homeowners see their new spaces breathed into life!

An avid gardener, Sharon has a great fondness for the natural world – denizens of her yard and her Labs, Olive, Max and Ruby, her kitties, (too numerous to mention), and a pond full of goldfish.  She lives in Woodbridge, Virginia with her husband of 32 years and is a proud momma to her daughter, 26, and son and daughter-in-law, 29.

Her work has been featured in Better Homes and GardensHouse Beautiful and Home & Design.

Inspired by innovative projects like a second-story addition over a garage, Dianne learned to think creatively and adaptively in the face of challenges, a skill she carries into her professional endeavors.

Collaboration is the cornerstone of Dianne’s methodology. She seamlessly integrates with the architectural team, estimators, production crew, and lead carpenters, orchestrating a symphony of creativity and precision to realize optimal solutions. Embracing the inevitability of challenges in construction, she places her trust in Foster’s team to navigate any obstacle with ingenuity and expertise.

Dianne is based in Woodbridge, VA, where she resides with her husband, son, newborn daughter, and silky cocker. Outside of her professional pursuits, she finds fulfillment in cultivating meaningful connections with family and friends. Her diverse interests include travel, indoor volleyball, cinema, and avid reading, particularly in the realm of design. With an insatiable appetite for learning, she eagerly embraces opportunities to glean insights from others.
