A Gainesville Kitchen Remodeling Project Inspired By A Green Pan!

We love learning about what inspires our clients to plan a kitchen remodeling project. Sometimes the impetus is functional, and sometimes it’s aesthetic, and sometimes it’s both. It was both aesthetic and functional for these Gainesville homeowners. The client was tired of having to bend down to place and pull dishes from the oven. They were also tired of the dated design of their space and wanted to create a kitchen that looked and felt like them. The clients have a GreenPan™ that they love and wanted to bring the pan’s sage green finish and brushed brass hardware into their kitchen.

Designing A Functional Kitchen That Works.

We addressed several elements to ensure this kitchen works as well as it looks.

  • Opening The Space: We removed a load-bearing wall between the dining room and kitchen to create an open concept cooking and dining space where people can gather.
  • Relocating The Appliances: We kept the sink in the same location but moved each appliance to a central location with ample surrounding countertop space.
  • Changing Appliances: We designed the kitchen to include built-in ovens at waist height and a drop-in cooktop to eliminate the need to bend when placing dishes in the oven.
  • Repurposing Unused Space: The original kitchen had an eat-in area that was used infrequently. We designed the kitchen with two islands to add more countertop space with bar seating for family and friends to make that space more functional.
  • Bringing Personal Style Into Kitchen Remodeling.

We had so much fun working on this Gainesville kitchen remodeling project. While we love a classic white kitchen, it was such a welcome change to design a painted kitchen that wasn’t white. Here are some details we integrated:

Furniture Cabinetry

Our client wanted some of the cabinetry to stand out from the rest. We designed a contrasting cooktop cabinet with furniture details to break up the sage green color and give this kitchen dimension. We used that same finish for the coffee bar.

Different Finishes

We used two cabinet pulls in two finishes for this kitchen. For the sage green cabinets, we used a brushed gold pull that looks like bamboo. For the stained cabinetry, we used an industrial matte black pull. Faucets and lighting followed that same color scheme.

The Unifying Factor

The bright white LG Viaterra Quartz countertops act as the unifying and calming influence for this kitchen. With so many finishes, colors and vibrant decor, a simple white stone helps bring it all together.
