Limited 5-Year Warranty for Remodeling Projects
Kitchens, bathrooms, basements, additions, and whole-home remodels are backed by our Limited 5-Year Warranty. It covers our workmanship and FRS-installed materials against covered defects. If a covered issue arises, we'll repair it, replace it, or take other reasonable corrective action at no additional charge, as outlined in the warranty.
Coverage includes items homeowners often ask about:
- Drywall nail pops, minor settlement cracks, and caulk separation. A home settles through its first full year of seasons, so we may schedule these cosmetic repairs after that first year so the repairs last. The wait doesn't shorten your five years of coverage.
- Roofing workmanship and FRS-installed roofing materials.
- Minor plumbing adjustments such as dripping faucets and toilet adjustments, for the first year.
Limited 2-Year Warranty for Home Services Projects
Our Home Services projects are smaller repairs and improvements handled by our in-house craftsmen. They're backed by a Limited 2-Year Warranty on our workmanship and FRS-installed materials. The same approach applies: if a covered issue comes up, we'll make it right at no additional charge, as outlined in the warranty. We'll also reasonably assist with eligible manufacturer warranty claims for appliances, fixtures, and equipment installed as part of your project.
Manufacturer Warranties
Appliances, HVAC equipment, fixtures, windows, and other manufactured products carry their own manufacturers' warranties. Where permitted, we assign those warranties to you at project completion. Our warranty still covers how we installed them, and our team will reasonably assist you with eligible manufacturer claims. Registering products with their manufacturers when required helps keep that coverage in place. For help with a manufacturer claim, email Warranty@FosterRemodeling.com.
What the Warranty Doesn't Cover
We want you to know exactly where coverage begins and ends. In summary, our warranties do not cover:
- Pre-existing or concealed conditions outside our contracted scope of work
- Water intrusion from existing parts of the home that we didn't modify
- Damage from storms, fire, flood, lightning, or other casualty events
- Alterations, misuse, negligence, pets, or lack of routine maintenance
- Owner-supplied materials and products
- Mold, asbestos, lead, radon, and other environmental conditions
- Cosmetic wear that was readily visible but not noted at the final walkthrough
- Damage caused by other contractors or third parties
This page is a summary. Your signed warranty document governs your coverage and contains the complete terms.
Caring for Your New Space
A little routine care protects both your project and your coverage. Your warranty asks that you:
- Maintain caulk, grout, and sealants, and use cleaning products suited to your finishes
- Keep indoor humidity in a healthy range and change HVAC filters on schedule
- Keep gutters, downspouts, and exterior drainage clear
- Winterize exterior faucets and other freeze-sensitive components
- Report leaks or hazards promptly, and allow access for warranty service
Our Care & Maintenance guide walks through each of these in detail.

Independently Verified Service
A warranty is only as good as the follow-through behind it. Since 2007, Foster has worked with GuildQuality, an independent third-party firm, to survey our clients about their experience with us. Those independent surveys earned Foster GuildQuality's Guildmaster Award in 2026, which recognizes exceptional customer service in residential construction.Read our verified client reviews on GuildQuality.

Warranty FAQs
How long is the Foster Remodeling Solutions warranty?
Remodeling projects are backed by our Limited 5-Year Warranty. Home Services projects are backed by our Limited 2-Year Warranty. Both cover our workmanship and FRS-installed materials.
When does warranty coverage begin?
Coverage begins on the Effective Date: the earlier of the date the work passes its final required inspection, or the date you first substantially occupy or use the completed space.
Is the warranty transferable if I sell my home?
The warranty is personal to the original owner. It can be transferred to a new owner with Foster's written approval, which may involve a warranty inspection and a disclosed transfer fee. Email Warranty@FosterRemodeling.com before closing so we can review the transfer.
Are drywall nail pops and settlement cracks covered?
Yes. Drywall nail pops, minor settlement cracks, and caulk separation are covered. Because new homes and additions settle through their first full seasonal cycle, we may schedule these cosmetic repairs after one full year so they hold long-term. The waiting period doesn't shorten your coverage.
What does the warranty not cover?
The warranty doesn't cover pre-existing or concealed conditions outside our scope, storm, fire, or flood damage, owner alterations or lack of maintenance, owner-supplied items, mold and environmental hazards, or water intrusion from existing parts of the home we didn't modify. Manufactured products are covered by their manufacturer's warranty. See the full warranty document for complete terms.
What about appliances, HVAC equipment, and fixtures?
Manufactured products are covered by their manufacturers' warranties, which we assign to you at completion where permitted. Our warranty still covers how we installed them, and our team will reasonably assist with eligible manufacturer claims.
How do I file a warranty claim?
Use the warranty claim form on this page or email Warranty@FosterRemodeling.com. Both go directly to our warranty team. Include your name, property address, contract number, a description of the issue, and photos if you have them. For emergencies such as an active leak, call our main office at (703) 550-1371, then follow up with the form or an email so our warranty team has the details.
How quickly will Foster respond to a warranty claim?
Our warranty team reviews every claim and responds within a commercially reasonable time, typically scheduling work during normal business hours. Emergency conditions are prioritized.
